New Beginnings

This is about my mother’s new beginnings. Actually she made a new beginning last June. On June 25th Mom had a special surgery, Gastro Intestinal Bypass Surgery. Meowmie was having many physical problems because of her excess weight and after much research, thought and prayer mom made the decision to have this surgery. For her it is a life-saving surgery. As a result of the surgery she has been able to go off a breathing machine at night called C-Pap and now no longer needs to take any medicine for her diabetes. She had been using 90 units of insulin per day prior to surgery, which is a lot.

She is losing the weight but she needs to make a resolution for the new year to take care of herself. Because of the surgery it is most important that she take her vitamin supplements. She already had a case of being very sick in November because she had become lax on that. We are going to encourage her to take all the vitamins she needs and to get on a good exercise regime. The exercise is the most difficult thing. Meowmie hates New Year’s Resolutions because she always breaks them but she needs this exercise to continue her weight loss. She went through a lot with that surgery and the exercise is an important part of her recovery. So Meowmie’s new beginning is to take better care of her health.
