Kitty that most infuenced me

By Tabitha Taylor

Although my meowme, daddy and brother, Bubba influenced me alot, the kitty that influenced me the most was my sister, Jazzy. Although Jazzy and I were only together for less than 2 years she taught me alot.

Before I was adopted, I lived in a sewer and wasn't socialized when I was adopted. When I first met Bubba and Jazzy, they hissed at me alot but soon the hissing stopped. At first neither Bubba and Jazzy would have much to do with me.

I followed Jazzy around all the time and watched her closely. Whatever she did, I did too! At first Jazzy didn't like me following her but one day Jazzy noticed I wasn't following her...I was at the vets. Jazzy spent the entire evening looking all over for me. She got upset that she couldn't find me. When I came home from the vet, Jazzy and I never let each other out of our sights.

Jazzy became like my furmom to me. She became really maternial with me or as much as Jazzy could be. From watching Jazzy closely, I learned that it was ok to let meowmie pet me and that she was safe. Jazzy taught me how to stand up for myself and how to love others. She taught me patience (except at treat time), how to play nicely and how to give to other kitties. I always wanted to be with Jazzy. When it was treat time, if Jazzy finished her treats first and went to the other room, I'd stop eatting and follow her. If she was sleeping, so would I.

When Jazzy got really sick in August, I spent all my time with her. I checked on Jazzy alot if I wasn't laying next to her. Every time she got her insulin, I stayed right next to her so she wouldn't be alone. When Jazzy needed blood, I went to the vet to give her some of mine. Although I hated going to the vet, meowmie says that if I understood why I was going, I'd have been happy. When Jazzy and I were at the vet's together, we were put next to each other in cages. The vet let us visit each other for a minute, even though she was very sick she cleaned me and I cleaned my sweet Jazzy.

Now Jazzy is at the Rainbow Bridge and my life will never be the same. Jazzy was my friend, mentor and surrogate fur mom. I know Jazzy is with me in Spirit but I really miss her not being with me physically.

I'm doing my best to do everything Jazzy taught me. There will never be another kitty as wonderful as Jazzy, the best I can do is model my life after Jazzy's. I can honestly mew that one of the things I'm proudest of is being Jazzy's little sister.

Rest peacefully my sweet Jazzy. One day I'll be with you again, following you all over the place. I love you very, very much sweet, beautful Jazzy
