The Cat and the Fire

I must tell you I was through a very heroic experience as well as a scarey one. My name is Coco and I am an orange tabby cat with a great story to tell you.

It was a quiet Sunday and I was taking my usual afternoon nap. The family was doing whatever humans usually do on Sundays. All seemed to be right with the world until.........my nose picked up a funny smell. I couldn't figure where it was coming from. At first I ignored it but the smell grew worse. My heart started to pound and I became much more afraid. I got up and ran frantically through the house to find my humans. As I ran from room to room I began to meow loudly to get the humans attention. I couldn't find my humans! I was so terrified. We live in a big house so it was very hard to gather them all together as I am a tiny, but loud kitty.

A big cloud of smoke was in front of me. I realized our house was on fire! Oh no I must warn the humans I thought to myself and get them out of here!

Thankfully, I found the humans downstairs in the reading room and I meowed, jumped, and made all kinds of noises till they finally realized I was trying to show them the smoke and the fire. We all ran out of the house and called the Fire Department. Yes, we were all safe and guess what? I was actually hailed a HERO!!!
