Two Cats Tribute
by BlackJack
There were two very special cats, brother and sister, who had a wonderful
meowmie and lovely home. Their meowmie's father had been quite ill, and
was in the hospital, so they didn't see their meowmie as much, because she
would go over and visit him. They loved their meowmie very much, and
worried about her father, because she would tell them how things were
going with him.
One morning the phone rang, and meowmie seemed extra sad.
She told them that her father was fading fast, so she would probably be
gone for most of the day, but that she would come back and feed them. As
she left, they sat watch over the house, and patiently waited. Hours
passed, and here came their meowmie, back just to feed them, pet them and
tell them that she would be going back to the hospital. The two kitties
knew that things were coming to a close with meowmie's father, and so they
were extra loving to her before she left.
Very late that night, about
2am, meowmie finally came home. She looked very very sad, and went and
fed the kitties, then sat on the couch with a sorrowful look on her face.
The two kitties knew she needed a lot of comforting. First one jumped up
on the couch and sat perched on one of meowmie's legs. Meowmie was so
happy, and petted and loved on the kitty, then, the other jumped up and
sat perched on her other leg. Never before had these two kitties done
such a thing, and they sat there for a long time, just letting their
meowmie pet them, and tell them the sad news that her father had crossed
the Rainbow Bridge that night.
She was so touched by the kitties special
love, and the fact that they knew that her father had passed on. Never
before had they sat that way with her, and it made their meowmie feel so
much better knowing that these two special cats were now her only family.
One very special thing too, is that these two cats never sat like this
again, that was their special tribute to their meowmie's father.
