The Tragedy of 11 September
by BlackJack
When I first heard of what had happened, and turned on the television, I
was just in shock. Watching the World Trade Center burning was one of the
most awful things I have seen, and then as I watched in horror, another
jetliner crashed into the second tower. Seeing that happen right there,
live, was the most surreal thing I have ever seen.
As I watched the
events unfolding, even more horror was to come, as suddenly one tower
bagan imploding on itself. I was just sickened thinking of all those
humans, who had gone to work that morning, and would never be going home
to their loving families. When the second tower collapsed, it was almost
more than I could bear.
Seeing our Pentagon burning just made me sick,
the heart of the military and it was on fire. What kind of nuts would do
such a thing?
As I heard of the brave passengers that had caused their
plane to crash into a field in Pennsylvania, I knew they were all heroes
who sacrificed their lives to save those that were targeted in some other
important building.
This horrible attack made me feel sad all over, a
very deep sadness at the loss of so many lives, and the loss of something
special in our country. The loss of innocence, the loss of control, the
sudden feeling of vulnerability was so frightening. This day was the most
frightening and shocking of my life, made so real by watching so much of
it live on television, like a terrible movie, only realizing this was
reality, a horrible reality. I purr for our country, and hope that justice
will be done to those who assaulted America that day, and hope never to
see such images again.
