A Poetic Horoscope

by Sinead O'Kitty

Kitty the Great, a Cancer Moon-child
Prefers a warm chair to the call of the wild.
Cardinal water, the source of the stream,
He gets things moving, he dances to his dream.
Guided by his feelings, his values are clear,
He nurtures, he cares, he purrs away fear.

Cancer, fourth house, root of the chart
Kitty’s fortress is his home and his heart.
When he gets nervous, when he’s under stress
It’s his fine, handsome stomach that’s put to the test.
He may put on some weight, or cough up some fur,
But give him love and he’ll feel safe and secure.

Kitty listens for the Goddess's call,
For Cancer, the moon, represents mothering for all.
Though he may have no kittens of his own,
The neighborhood cats know where to call home.
He welcomes his family with open, soft arms,
But responds with rage if his "children" meet harm.

Like the crab, he approaches his life sort of sideways.
If he wants something from you, he really won’t say.
Shy at first, he’ll retreat into his shell
If you grab him and push him and shout out and yell.
But if you give him space and read the words in his eyes,
Kitty the Great will give you the love you so prize.
