THE VEGA MISSION

by Sir Wally

Captain Sir Wally received notification from the High Command that he had
been given command of a spaceship called the Vega. This was a Cargo ship and Sir Wally's mission would be to transport errant petizens, usually dogs, to the outer lying colonies where they could not cause problems!
The Leader of the Space Station where the petizens would be kept called
herself KittiVadra! She looked nice but she could be
a bit "catty".

Captain Sir Wally also advanced to the command of two more ships but is
favorite remained the Vega. KittiVadra became thoroughly disgusted! She expected a large horde of dogs and Sir Wally was too busy polishing his spacecraft! Perhaps a mission to one of the outlying colonies was in order, he
decided.  The Vega could carry several passengers and was equipped to defend itself plus KittiVadra  had sent a hissy message because she was B O R E D !!! and wanted some beasties to watch over! The Lorzaks, her special army, were getting too fat, she whined.

The pesky dogs, in this case the breed of Pekingese,  were placed on board
for experimental purposes...mission to see how those short noses, mops of
hair and haunty dispositions would be in deep space! The mission ran into
trouble when an alien spacecraft approached and sent a purple mist
throughout the ship. Until that time, the dogs had been fine.

KittiVadra could not be reached ... she had become so bored, she was out
hunting spacemice!

One of the Pekes became agitated by the purple mist and began to
>hallucinate. He imagined he was growing BIG and could commandeer the ship. Fortunately he wore himself out and a nap was in order.

Captain Sir Wally, unable to contact anyone for help, had crew members
isolate the dogs so his crew could open a hatch and let the purple mist go out into the atmosphere.  While the mist  made the crew members sleepy, their
specially made space masks kept them from becoming overcome.

By the time, the Vega reached the Space Station, Captain Sir Wally was
very tired, his crew was exhausted but the dogs were rested and eager to run and play.  KittyVadra was excited to have new "prisoners" but they
seemed to have a purple tint, she noted.
