Living as an Ant

Hello my name is Timmy and I am a worker ant and I live in a lovely garden bed. I have many other ants I live with and we are responsible for all kinds of things here. There are many of us so we share responsibilities. Some things we do are gather food, look out for our Queen and her Babies and protect the Colony we live in.

We also tend to get into trouble sometimes too. It is not always intentional though. Let me explain what I mean!

I was tending to the garden bed doing my chores and with no notice I felt something come down hard on me and boy did it hurt! I figured I was one squished ant for sure. It turns out there are these things called People that walk on areas where we ants live. I naturally never knew this. Luckily I moved just in time before I was totally squished! I was hurt a little but managed to recover nicely. I felt so silly when the other ants explained all of this to me. I learned a valuable lesson and now I am also very wary of those People.

I am just glad to be able to still be around and be with my ant family!!
