The Saga of Three Cats

There was once a kitty named Russell Sprouts who just loved and adored everyone and everyone loved him too. But in his home, there were two other kitties who just never could get along, they were Bambi and Ramble.

Bambi was the oldest of the kitties in this household (11 years old) and she was the most respected of all the cats that lived there. She was a quiet, dignified older cat that the younger cats and kittens looked up to. Ramble, on the other hand, was a teenage cat who felt he should be the dominent cat in this home.

Ramble always went after Bambi because he just didn't like her attitude and didn't like the fact that everyone looked up to her. Ramble wanted to be top cat so whenever he saw Bambi, he would try and fight with her to prove his prowess and authority. His conceit and pride were unfortunately his worst qualities.

Ramble loved Russell Sprouts, though because Rusty (Russell Sprout's nickname) never tried to usurp Ramble's authority. Rusty would always follow and never tried to lead. Rusty always let others push him around because he was the peacemaker and definitely avoided strife at all costs. And Ramble would always boss Rusty but Rusty never let it bother him.

One day, Ramble was really going at Bambi because he had to prove to her once and for all he was boss and he started attacking her. Rusty, who was so laid back and who never got into fights, looked on in terror. Ramble was really going to hurt Bambi and Bambi did nothing to deserve this. Rusty had to decide what to do - should he just sit back and watch poor Bambi who was not as strong as Ramble get hurt because Ramble had a chip on his shoulder and had to prove to everyone he was the toughest of the bunch.

Rusty decided it was time to get off the fence and defend poor Bambi (who was much older and now much frailer). Rusty fought like a tiger to defend Bambi and Ramble was totally taken aback and in awe of Rusty's prowess in fighting and defending. Ramble was so shocked he slunk back to another part of the house and from that time on avoided fighting with both Rusty and Bambi too - since Rusty was always nearby just in case.
