Profound Musical Moment

Meowmie says that her life has a musical score. She says that when she hears certain songs it reminds her of a moment in her life. Sometimes it makes her feel very happy and other times she feels sad. Meowmie tells me of a Christmas time a long time ago when she was a senior in high school. Not to brag but meowmie has always been very gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She sings loud and strong and was always given a solo to sing when the choir performed. This particular year she had the honor of singing solo on "Oh Holy Night" The choir had rehearsed the song and meowmie says that it sounded wonderful. They performed the song several times before the big night of the school performance always to an admiring audience. The big night of the school had arrived and meowmie stepped into the spotlight to sing her solo. Meowmie looked out into the audience which was filled with parents and families and teachers. Meowmie always looked for her parents so that she could sing directly to them. In the past years as meowmie saw her parents they always seemed very proud of her. They were smiling and they had always encouraged her. This night she spotted her parents and they did not look happy and meowmie wondered what was wrong. A single note was played on the piano to give meowmie her starting point. The words started flowing out of meowmie's lips and her eyes closed because she could not bear to look at her parents faces. She thought if she could keep her eyes closed everything would be alright. Meowmie imagined her parents' faces as they were in the past years. They were smiling and this got her through the song. At the end there was a hush over the audience. Meowmie kept her eyes glued shut in fear. Knowing that she had to step back and join the choir in their places meowmie opened her eyes to see the audience on their feet. Her eyes met the eyes of her father who had tears flowing down his face. The audience began applauding and cheering. My meowmie was filled with joy and she took her place with the choir as the audience continued their praises.
After the performance meowmie found her parents waiting for her outside the dressing room door. Her parents hugged her tightly and her father told her that he had always been very proud of her but never more than that moment.
Every time meowmie hears this song she cries but they are not tears of sadness, they are tears of great joy and in remembrance of her father. It was the one time in her life that she felt that he loved her and that he was glad she was in his life.
