I think the saying "Dog Days of Summer" means the laid back, lazy, most enjoyable days of Summer. It must... because my dog is laid back, lazy, and she always enjoys life. So it makes sense that "Dog Days" would be like that! It's the days deep into the Summer when school and responsibilities have been completely forgotten and when many many families take their vacations. For the humans it's the time for drinking lemonade on the screened porch in the evening or for lounging by the pool all day when the sun is hot. For ME it just means laying around on the window ledge in the airconditioning and watching all the activities. I like it best when meowmie puts the sprinkler outside my favorite kitchen window, and the birds come and take a shower in it. Ohhhhhhh I love to watch the birds take their shower! And I love the "Dog Days of Summer".
