My hopes and wishes for the coming year...

My hopes and wishes for the coming year are mostly for us cats. I would like to have all of us kitties at my house healthy. I do not want anymore of us to go to the bridge. It is so depressing when that happens.

I would like to see us become better furriends with our new brofur Smokey. He is a very quiet and shy kitty. Some of us need to snuggle up to him when he is sleeping so he gets the feel of us. I would like to see us start grooming him like we do to each other. He is so good to share his food with us. We need to start doing things for him.

I would like to see all animal shelters become no kill shelters. Some boast of this, but when it comes down to it, they put many animals to sleep that could have gotten homes.

I would like to see a new law of the land that forbade declawing of all felines.

I would like to see more homeless animals off the streets and into shelters and good loving homes where they can be cared for and loved.

I would like to see cures for the diseases that plague us and cause us pain. I remember what it was like when one of my brofurs had diabetes and finally went to the bridge. My new brofur Smokey has it now and he has to have shots twice a day. Cancer in cats is becoming more and more common. Hip dysplasia is another thing that is beginning to bother cats.

Better understanding of us felines, better educated humans, and better educated veterinarians are my biggest hopes and wishes for this year 2003.
