The Missing Shadow

One day as I was lying on the porch, wishing the clouds would go away and taking a short nap I suddenly woke up to see this cute furry creature looking sooo confused. What are you doing there little fellow? I asked. Well you see when I woke up this morning I noticed that someone stole my shadow! He told me. Are you sure someone stole your shadow I asked the little fellow? Well it was here yesterday I seen it and now it is gone. What am I going to do? Well let me help you! My name is Mr. Spring and I think I might be able to help you find your shadow. Oh please please that would be soooooooo nice. My name is Mr. Groundhog. Now, that, I think is a rather silly name but who am I to judge names. So off we went in search of the missing shadow. We searched for hours. Under the trees, in tunnels, in the playgrounds, under the cars. Everywhere a kitty and groundhog could think to look. But we were having a hard time looking for the missing shadow and it was starting to rain. Well I told my new friend that we needed to get some supper because it was really getting late and then go to bed. In the morning we will continue our search for the missing shadow. So we sat down to a nice meal of fish, cheese and milk. hmmmmmmmm that was good. Now lets set our alarm clocks and get up bright and early to look for your shadow. So off we went to bed. That night I had nice dreams of the sun shinning bright and the flowers blooming and beautiful spring things. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Wake up Mr. Groundhog it is time to search again for your shadow! Yes yes we must get going. You go first Mr. Spring and I will follow you. So I climed out of the hole and just like my dream I saw the sun shinning bright and the flowers were in bloom. Oh what a wonderful spring day this is. Come out Mr. Groundhog don't be shy! So out climbed Mr. Groundhog and there, there it was, the missing shadow!!!! We found it, we found it and yes yes it is spring!!!!!!!!!!!!! We danced together and sang songs - for the missing shadow was back. Now Mr. Groundhog is happy he found his shadow and Mr. Spring is so happy that spring is in the air.
