Where I Live

I live in Sunny South Western Florida, way down near the Gulf of Mexico. It is always warm and sunny, and in the summertime it rains and thunders really loud.

Now I have lived with my meowmie since I was a day old, and I didn't remember much about rain until last summer. We have this great big room with windows all around, meowmie calls it a Florida Room. Jessie and I like to play out there, we watch birdies and bunnies and lizards play by our window, but one day, the most horrible thing happened. It suddenly started to rain and thunder, and it was horrible!!!!!!

Jessie and I ran for the door at the same time, but meowmie only had it opened about 6 inches, just enough for one of us to get through, not both of us at the same time, she still laughs about it, our legs and tails and fur were just a flying as the two of us tried to get through the door at the same time, scrambling and pawing and trying to squeeze through that little opening, until I got smart, I jumped right over Jessie and ran, ran, ran right under the bed.

I still don't like thunder, but I have learned that it is smarter to casually go sit on meowmie's lap when the thunder boomers start up, that way no one knows that I might be scared.
