One Dark and Stormy Night......

By SassyJazmine

One dark and stormy night, I had just finished spraying my masters shoes, when I heard a frightening noise coming from the front of the house. I cautiously climbed the curtains, peered through the front window and what to my startled eyes did I see... the headless dogman.

He was an ugly cur, I hissed, leaping fearlessly from the curtains, (shredding them in the process), to take a valiant stance on top of the refrigerator. Quietly crouched, I waited, until I heard a noise, sniff, sniff, slobber, slobber. I knew that I was in trouble now, I could hear it coming down the hall toward me, slowly slobbering all over the floor.

I peered cautiously over the edge of the refrigerator, I arched my back, fluffed my tail and gave my best $1.98 hiss. Slowly the fiend looked up at me, slobbering and breathing heavily, I knew my time was as paw.

Methodically I minced to the edge of the refrigerator, preparing to do what any brave cat would do. I leaped to the kitchen table and ran like my favorite meal, chicken. I could feel his hot breath and the dog tags of the headless dogman as he chased me down the hall.

Quickly I darted into the living room and ran for the sliding glass door, I leaped, but unknown to me, my master had closed it earlier, and boom, I hit the door.

Foiled again in my escape attempt, I was trapped , much like another of my favorite delicacies, the rat. I turned to face my tormentor, it rose up in front of me, and then I realized with a start, that it wasn't the headless dogman, it was my worst nightmare come true, it was Spot the ugly pug from next door. He had come to extract his revenge from the incident involving his water dish and my spray.

He leered at me, bravely I hissed and struck him with my clawless paw, egads I forgot my master had me declawed.

With a low menacing growl he started shuffling toward me, I knew this was the end, nothing can save me now.

Then suddenly, there was a light, and a scream, a shot was fired, or maybe that was the car outside. It was my master come to save me. Quickly my Meowmie scooped up the dog and took him back from where he was spawned.

I was saved once again...we will live happily ever after...until she discovers the shredded curtains in the living room.
