Unusual Friends

by Taurus

I am here today to tell you a little about 2 very unusual friends that I have.

My friends and I never got along at first and I was always known as "Prissy the Pampered Pet". Everyone would tease me and pick on me because I had a nice home and a supurr family. I would sit on my porch and be curious, as a cat is supposed to be, and look around at the birds and the interesting bugs and do my cat thing.

I would always see this other cat, Samantha, who was a feral kitty. I would put my nose up at Sam every time I saw her and she would naturally, hiss at me. She hated me and I hated her. I always felt I was so much better then her.

It turns out Samantha had a friend of her own named Peek-a-boo who was from a Shelter. The poor kitty was always known as the little shelter cat. Makes me shudder to hear that..........anyway moving along.........

Samantha was hoping since I had a big house maybe I could get my humans to adopt Peek-a-boo. I didn't care much for Sam but she did have a BIG heart. I always felt bad when I heard about Shelter Kitties so I was willing to listen to Sam one day when she started to explain to me about Peek-a-boo.

Samantha took me to meet Peek-a-boo. What a lovely cat I thought to myself! I immediately went to my humans and started the droopy eyed, whining routine to let them know I wanted a housemate. We went to the shelter and I realized I had one problem. I had to make sure they took Peek-a-boo. I looked at the cage where I met Peek-a-boo and it was empty! My heart began to pound and I was meowing frantically. I thought Peek-a-boo was gone to someone else.......I wanted her to be with me.

Suddenly something made me turn around....it was Peek-a-boo.......she was moved to a new cage. She was there and I was so relieved. My humans liked her thank goodness and we took her home.

She is great to me and we get along so well. Peek-a-boo is so grateful to Sam for introducing us and getting a supurr home! I started to realize more and more that Sam was also a good kitty and even though Sam preferred the outdoors and being more on her own she now comes and stays with me and Peek-a-boo all the time and we are great friends and look out for one another always!
