Little Ivy -- the Seafaring Cat

Little Ivy is a happy, orange-tiger kitty who lives in a great big family of cats known as the Kitty Tribe. Ivy is especially fond of her Daddy and came to be known as a "Daddy's girl", a title she didn't mind as long as she got sole access to his extra long lap and magic fingers!

One day, Little Ivy overheard the humans talking about going away fur a weekend trip to the lake. Ivy was not pleased; she didn't know what a lake was, but she knew she didn't like the idea of being without her Daddy's lap for two whole days. Oh sure, her Aunty Michelle was to stop in for meal preparation and litter duty, but Aunty Michelle did not possess the extra long lap or the magic fingers like her Daddy! So Little Ivy came up with a plan.

As the humans started packing up the car to go to the lake, Ivy hopped in the car and snuck into a bag full of beach towels. "Ah, this is nice and comfy!" thought Little Ivy, "Won't Daddy be surprised when he discovers I came along!".

The ride to the lake was furry long, but Little Ivy slept most of the way. Little Ivy slept furry soundly indeed! For when Ivy finally woke up, the Earth was moving in a funny way! It seemed to sway back and forth, it almost made her a little dizzy! And the air smelled funny - fresh and crisp with the faint odor of eau de fish! How curious!

Ivy gathered up all her courage and poked her head out of the bag with the beach towels! Oh the humans were so surprised and amazed that Little Ivy was with them -- on a BOAT! "Why it's the Little Ivy!" they all cried. But Ivy was more amazed than the humans, for she had never been in a boat, much less in a boat sitting on a lake and surrounded by water.

But Little Ivy is a brave kitty! At first she was a little scared -- normally the Earth did not sway or surround her with water! She soon found her "seafaring legs" and could soon walk around the boat with ease! She even stood on the front of the boat and pointed the way fur the humans to navigate their boat! Ivy found out that she was obviously born to be a seafaring cat!

The humans were amazed at Little Ivy's bravery and cleverness and efurryone had a great time at the lake. By the time the humans had to go home, the boat had a new captain -- Little Ivy!
