One Wish For All Cats
By Mewsette
I would consider so many wishes for all cats in the world, if I could
make one. The hard part would be the choosing, because there's a lot I
wish.
First I'd consider a wish that all fatal diseases cats get, both feline
and human-type diseases,
would be wiped out and non-existent. Next I'd consider one that every
cat in the world had a home. That's just the order my thoughts would be
in. I'd think of wishing that all cats, especially in third world
countries, were safe and not subjected to barbarous treatment. I'd want
to wish there were no such things as shelters and pounds that kill cats,
but only plenty of no-kill shelters instead. I'd really want to wish
that declawing cats was against the law in the US, as it is in most
European countries.
But there are so many cats in the world, I'd have to be careful to wish
for something so basic and general that it would include every cat and,
by association, include more specific wishes about treatment of us. How
can one wish possibly be basic and general enough, I would wonder?
Should all cats be taken care of? Of course. Should all cats have homes?
Yes, good ones. Should all cats be protected by laws? Depends on the
laws. Should all cats be worshipped as gods? No, that could lead to
trouble, much as I'd like it personally. Should all cats be neutered and
spayed? No, because then in a few years there wouldn't be any cats.
Should all cats be loved? Now I stop considering.
Yes, all cats should be loved, and I wish all humans loved cats more
than any other creature in the world besides themselves. Then we would
all have good homes and care and be safe........ well, I've almost
arrived at my wish.
My one wish for all cats in the world is that they could all be loved as
much as I am.
